
SeungNyang escapes successfully and, from then on, protects herself by pretending to be a boy. Before dying, she tells SeungNyang that her father is still alive and gives her the ring that her father will recognize.

While they’re trying to escape, SeungNyang’s mother is shot with an arrow by Tangqishi, son of the Yuan Regent, El Temur. But they are released from prison by Wang Yu, the young Crown Prince of Koryo.
